A few years ago, two bereft and hungry small orphans
turned up at Eric and Belinda's door. They were taken in, cleaned, clothed, fed and educated. The two children
now spend their days in the school room which Eric has built at the back of the house.
The word spread. Today, Eric and Belinda host, for day care, up to three hundred
children from the nearby Nkobongo Township.
The Gilberts provide a daily meal, bath and clothing, medication and education.
The school ethic includes discipline and manners along with basic literacy. Children then go on to the local schools.

The Gilberts have opened their hearts and their home to heartbreakingly
poor children. Funds are needed for on-going care and foodstuffs and to pay teachers, care assistants and to train volunteers.
For the cost of what for us is a round in the pub, or a fattening take-away meal, a great deal can be done for these children.
A little money goes a long way. Please contact Eric and Belinda for details of where to send your contribution.

The project caters for orphans and children of unemployed parents,
or caregivers in the cases of families decimated by HIV/AIDS.
For adults and parents the project offers sewing, baking and
household maintenance classes. The Gilberts have loaned their own land for the community vegetable garden, where locals
grow food.
